[Review] A great review from Rabab Ahmad with highlights the Annual UX Masterclass in Dubai! #UXA #Dubai2024 #UXMCDubai
UX researcher- digital inclusion. Behavioral Science || BSc Biology-Psychology|| ∆Mental wellness advocate ✓
Its been a week but Im still buzzing with excitement having attended THE UX event of the year! Huge shout-out to Digital of Things and UXalliance for hosting a phenomenal Masterclass and knocking it straight out of the park! So grateful for the opportunity to share the same space with such intuitive, inspiring and exceptional people. 9 hours were definitely not enough to truly soak it in but it's surely a start. I can't even decide on what discussions were the highlights because each and every expert brought something unique to the table. A diverse array of topics covered everything from the fundamentals of user centricity, to design challenges within multi-faceted projects, regions, demographics etc. If I am to see it strictly through the lens of my own educational and professional background, then of course Bob Schumacher's talk on 'Expectations evolve, humans don't" stood out remarkably, re-establishing the value of truly understanding behaviour psychology and its central role in UX. Embracing my diverse experience and transitioning into UX research with a passion for inclusion and accessibility, I was thrilled to witness Gavin Lew live in action. It might have only been a 30 minute talk but it left me wanting more! He introduced A11y and its history while taking us on a quick, imaginative time-travelling journey to the very first considerations of accesibility and tech for good. Consequentially this brings into light the scope of user accesibility in a place like the UAE, who are always are the forefront when it comes to supporting People of Determination. This in no way takes away from all the brilliant speakers who brought their A-game and so much knowledge to absorb and take inspiration from. Thank you all for your incredible insights Chris Golias, Ph.D., Kristine Pitts, Wojciech Chojnacki, Paola Seghezzi, Anna Lazzati, Faris El Mahgiub, Katral-Nada Hassan, Maffee, Peng Hui Wan, Adam Symonds, Joelle Stemp, Mrudula Sreekanth, Annemieke Van Ruiten, Frederic Gaillard An extra shout-out to Sudipt Shah for, in my eyes, being a pioneer and leading the UX movement in this part of the world, I am excited to see what all is yet to come!!
