Deep-learning models have the potential to revolutionise the way many industries work, but the computational power required for these models demands use of cloud-based servers. Concerns around the security of these servers, and the risk to data using them could pose, is resulting in some organisations or whole industries being reluctant to utilise the tools which could be available to them. All this could be about to change though.  Researchers at MIT have developed a ground-breaking security protocol using quantum properties of light to 'guarantee' data being transferred to and from the cloud servers will remain secure during deep-learning computations.
