A fiendish serial killer is compiling a “masterpiece” in the new trailer for Prime Video‘s Cross — and Aldis Hodge‘s titular crimesolver is determined to stop him.
In Cross, which is based on characters from the James Patterson novels and is shepherded by Burn Notice vet Ben Watkins, Hodge (Leverage) plays Alex Cross, who is uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify — and ultimately capture — the murderers. Alex is “brilliant, flawed, and full of contradictions,” per the streamer. “A doting father and family man single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it.”
In addition to Hodge, Cross’ Season 1 ensemble includes Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam), Isaiah Mustafa (Shadowhunters), Alona Tal (SEAL Team), Johnny Ray Gill (Underground), Juanita Jennings (Star), Samantha Walkes (Murdoch Mysteries), Jennifer Wigmore (Malory Towers), Eloise Mumford (Chicago Fire) and child actors Melody Hurd (THEM) and Caleb Elijah.
For the already-greenlit Season 2, Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico), Matthew Lillard (Good Girls) and Wes Chatham (Ahsoka) are all confirmed to join the cast, while executive producers Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst have been elevated to co-showrunners alongside Watkins.
All eight Season 1 episodes will hit Prime Video on Thursday, November 14.

Jeanine Mason was great in Roswell, New Mexico.
Glad she’s expanding her acting credits
I love Aldis! Do yourself a favor and get Edwin as well. They are both fantastic and funny!
Age of the geek baby!
I hate how touchy this site is. I was attempting to make a general comment, not reply to yours. Sorry!
Age of the geek baby is right !!!!!
The premise sounds interesting but similar to some past shows. I really like the cast so it depends on how they execute it. Looking forward to seeing Aldis and also Jeanine who I loved from Roswell. It’s a great cast overall!!!
Cannot wait! I have read all of the books and Aldis will be a great Alex Cross.
I take this to mean that each season will feature different casts of characters. Is that the case?
Why on earth did someone downvote you? If it’s like the books, there will be a core cast of characters and others will come and go along with the cases he’s investigating.
I’m hoping this was gonna be another Reacher in its success, which already having secured a S2 renewal bolds well.
.
I’m happy Aldis is getting more opportunities (though I wish he was back on Leverage: Redemption full time). I’ll take him in any capacity.
.
Jeanine Mason will be great too.
YES!!! It’s a nice little present to get it on my birthday🤓😁🥳
Aldis and Jeanine too?! I was already excited for more Alex Cross, adding Jeanine makes it even better. I loved her in Roswell.
Wouldn’t mind them finding her character a reason to dance! Unless she doesn’t want to. In which case fine… there will always be the youtube clips at least
Well I sure as hell hope Ryan Eggold is in season 2 this is what fans are dying for he’s an amazing actor please don’t disappoint us fans
So ready! I know I should email this for Q&A but I’m wondering since Amazon is making announcements today if they’ll move forward with the Reese Witherspoon Ted Lasso-ish series about college cheerleaders. Pretty sure it was already ordered 2 years back.
This looks like it will be great. I can’t wait for it.
I’m so happy for this series. I’ve read the books. This is the 3rd Alex Cross, I just pray Prime gets it right.
So is this a murder of the week type of series or do you think it is an ongoing storyline/mystery each season? I am not familiar with the source material.
Probably the latter. Or it may be a mix. Cross has some “big bads” that span more than one book.
Is hunting murderers literally the only job left for anyone on a TV show? I’m sick of these great casts being put toward yet another murder-based show. Why is murder the focus of 85% or more of all prestige TV shows? You’d think it was the only thing that happens in the world. Ugh.
Which book(s) will the first series be based on?
I like Hodge (I’d kill for a Hawkman movie) but I don’t feel like he’s a great fit for the character in the books, who’s more of a dumpy, intellectual family man type than a black version of Jack Reacher.
Aldis Hodge is amazing, will watch anything he’s in. CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS
Can’t wait!
Can’t wa8t for Ctoss to come out.
I will be watching each and every one. I have always loved James Patterson.
Can’t wait.
