Veronica is a human-born mutant chicken who was a regular citizen of New York City prior to Old Hob's mutagen bomb.
After the Splinter Clan opened their dōjō, Veronica enrolled as a student there, taking part in the martial arts classes at least. She credits "Master Raphael" with her self-defense teachings.
Veronica was also a participant of the mutant support group running in the basement of Alopex's shelter. Uniquely, she defended not only her sensei at the Splinter Clan, but also the Mutanimals, who she states "kept her safe" multiple times, and also gave her friends their first jobs in years as well as food and shelter. - Creator Sophie Campbell initially gave her name as Siobhan, before being reminded that she had already given that name to a member of After the Bomb, after which she changed it to Veronica.
