Search for TV shows & movies on Google

When you search for TV shows and movies, Google can make suggestions to help you decide what to watch.

Find a TV show or movie to watch

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search what to watch.
- Tip: You can also search for what to watch by streaming service, topic, genre, and more. For example, you can search Hulu movies or 90's romantic comedies.
Tap a movie or TV show All watch options.
Next to the streaming service you want to use, tap Watch.
- For some streaming services, you might get the option to subscribe with Google.

Save a TV show or movie to watch

You can save TV shows and movies to watch later with watchlist.

Save to your watchlist

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search what to watch for a show or movie you want to save.
- Tip: You can also search what to watch by streaming service, topic, genre, and more. For example, search comedy tv shows. Then select the movie or TV show.
Tap a movie or TV show Watchlist .

Find your watchlist

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search my watchlist.

You can also view your watchlist in Collections.

Add your streaming & TV subscriptions

You can add TV and streaming services you're subscribed to so you only get results for shows or movies you can watch.

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search for what to watch. For example, search for true crime shows or a specific title.
Next to "What to watch," tap Settings Edit your services.
Select your subscriptions.
- For some streaming services, you might get the option to subscribe with Google.
At the top, tap Close .

Tip: You can also search for what to watch without any subscriptions.

Subscribe to streaming services

For some streaming services, you might be able to subscribe with Google.

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search for what to watch. For example, search for true crime shows or a specific title.
Next to "What to watch," tap Settings Edit your services.
Select the streaming service you want to subscribe to.
If the option to subscribe is available, follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: If you subscribed to a streaming service on Google Search, you can manage your subscriptions or request a refund on Google Play. Learn how to cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play.

Rate what you've watched

You can rate what you watch to get better recommendations in the future and help others make decisions about what to watch.

On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com or open the Google app .
Search for the title of a movie or TV show.
Next to the rating from Google users, tap Like or Dislike .

Change your settings

Turn off notifications for TV shows & movies

You can get updates about your favorite TV shows, like when a new episode is released or if we find a movie you might like.

To turn notifications off:

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial Settings Notifications Notifications.
Turn off Entertainment.

Turn off personalized recommendations

If you don't want personalized recommendations, you can turn off Personal results.

How recommendations work

Movie and TV show recommendations are based on what's popular or trending in Google products, what’s mentioned across the web, and what’s new to streaming services.

If you’re signed in to your Google Account and have Personal results turned on, Google’s recommendations are also based on your activity in Google products including:

Past searches and browsing history.
TV shows or movies you’ve rated.
Trailers you’ve watched on YouTube.
