Attach and pair your ZEISS Optical Inserts

After you’ve purchased a pair of ZEISS Optical Inserts, you’ll need to attach them to your Apple Vision Pro and then pair them.

  1. Place your Apple Vision Pro inside its cover and set it on a level surface.

  2. Hold one ZEISS Optical Insert by its edges to avoid fingerprints. Each ZEISS Optical Insert is laser marked with an “L” or an “R” to indicate left or right. The white line on the top of each ZEISS Optical Insert indicates the top. Position the ZEISS Optical Insert with its “L” or “R” indicator pointing inwards, towards the nose bridge.

  3. Place the ZEISS Optical Insert over the display. It will snap into place magnetically when connected. Repeat for the second ZEISS Optical Insert. You’ll need to attach both ZEISS Optical Inserts, even if you only need vision correction for one eye.

  4. Put your Vision Pro on, making sure you handle it by the frame, and follow the onscreen instructions to adjust the display alignment.

  5. As you begin the eye setup process, you’ll be prompted to pair your ZEISS Optical Inserts. If you can’t see the prompt, quadruple-click the top button, turn the Digital Crown to select Pair New Optical Inserts and press the Digital Crown to begin.

  6. Look at the pairing code provided in your ZEISS Optical Inserts packaging, or in the Health app. Can’t find your pairing code? If your pairing code won’t scan or doesn’t work:

    • Try increasing the lighting in the room you’re in.

    • Register your ZEISS Optical Inserts at https://myzeissvision.zeiss.com/ and try the code generated for you there.

Pair or unpair your ZEISS Optical Inserts in Settings

Your Apple Vision Pro will prompt you automatically to complete pairing after you’ve attached your ZEISS Optical Inserts. You can also set up or pair your ZEISS Optical Inserts at any time in Settings. Make sure you have the pairing code that came with your ZEISS Optical Inserts. Can’t find your pairing code?

If you have an iPhone or iPad associated with the same Apple ID as your Apple Vision Pro, a health record will be added to the Health app automatically, including your prescription, serial number and pairing code of your ZEISS Optical Inserts. This will give you easy access to the pairing code directly from your iPhone or iPad.

Pair your ZEISS Optical Inserts in Settings

  1. Attach your ZEISS Optical Inserts if they’re not already attached.

  2. Put on your device and make sure Eye and Hand Tracking have been set up.

  3. Quadruple-click the top button, then use the Digital Crown to choose Pair New Optical Inserts.

  4. Or go to Settings > Eyes & Hands. Under ZEISS Optical Inserts, select Set Up New Optical Inserts.

  5. Complete pairing by scanning the pairing code you received with the packaging. Can’t find your pairing code? If your pairing code won’t scan or doesn’t work:

    • Try increasing the lighting in the room you’re in.

    • Register your ZEISS Optical Inserts at https://myzeissvision.zeiss.com/ and try the code generated for you there.

You can also follow these steps to pair another set of ZEISS Optical Inserts with your Apple Vision Pro. Before you swap between different pairs of ZEISS Optical Inserts, if prompted, enter your passcode, then use the Digital Crown to select the correct set of ZEISS Optical Inserts.

Remove a pairing

If you no longer need to use a particular pair of ZEISS Optical Inserts and want to remove them from your device:

  1. Go to Settings > Eyes & Hands.

  2. Under ZEISS Optical Inserts, select your ZEISS Optical Inserts.

  3. Select Forget These Optical Inserts.

Find your pairing code or serial number

Your ZEISS Optical Inserts come with a pairing code that you’ll need for the setup process. It’s located in the box on a separate card. Make sure you keep this code. This code will help if you ever need support for your ZEISS Optical Inserts. If you can’t find your pairing code:

  • In the Health app, go to Browse > Body Measurements > Vision Prescription.

  • Check the packaging of your ZEISS Optical Inserts.

  • You can also go to https://myzeissvision.zeiss.com/ to register your ZEISS Optical Inserts using their serial number. After you’ve registered your ZEISS Optical Inserts, you can look them up and find your pairing code.

The serial number is printed on the back of the frame of each ZEISS Optical Insert. Or if you’ve added your prescription to the Health app, you can also find your serial number in the Vision Prescription section.

If you can’t select your ZEISS Optical Inserts

  • If your ZEISS Optical Inserts or your optical module are dirty or damaged, you may not be able to enrol your ZEISS Optical Inserts or select them for use on your Vision Pro.

  • Make sure both ZEISS Optical Inserts are properly attached to your Vision Pro.

  • If you have multiple pairs of ZEISS Optical Inserts, make sure the pair that is attached is a matching pair.

  • Make sure you are not using any third-party accessories, such as lens protectors.
