about

Patient Music is two new recordings from composer/clarinetist Stuart Bogie made in collaboration with longtime friends & collaborators Josh Kaufman & Sam Cohen. Created over the course of two sessions in one night in front of a small group of assembled friends, the trio showcase years of musical camaraderie in the two wholly improvised works.

Bogie, a celebrated instrumentalist, conjures rhapsodic melodies building lines from simple gestures. Kaufman and Cohen, two accomplished instrumentalists and producers create an evolving bed of sonorous offerings from guitars, keyboards, and percussion. The works are presented whole, without subdivision into tracks to encourage thoughtful listening.

Recorded in the legendary studio A at Reservoir Studios in Manhattan by 4x Grammy winner Patrick Dillett, the album puts the listener in the room at the moment of creation.

Patient Music is the first release in the new series Sounds from the Reservoir from Historical Fiction Records.
