A Hazari Escort

The Hazari are a race of bounty hunters from the Delta Quadrant, who prided themselves on keeping their contracts more than the actual bounty itself. In 2410, they were hired by the Delta Alliance.

They were known as Species 4228 to the Borg, for whom they made excellent tactical drones. When Hazari vessels attacked in pairs, one ship usually stayed behind to reinforce the shields of the other, causing an exploitable weakness in Hazari tactics. When the Think Tank hired Hazari to capture the U.S.S. Voyager in 2375, Captain Janeway was able to negotiate a new deal, turning them against the Think Tank instead.

Delta Rising[]

• “Kendren System Patrol”: The player repairs Danil's ship, a Benthan Cruiser, following an attack by Hazari and the Hierarchy. Danil is attempting to arrest Daimon Qwen, who has been engaging in criminal activity in the Kendren System.
• “Nanipia System Patrol”: In 2410, the player has to choose whether to help the Benthans in detaining a Malon ship in the Nanipia System. In case you assist them, hired Hazari vessels will try to free the Malon.
• “Hodos System Patrol”: After realizing that their budget is too small to buy the best shuttle for Antares Trans-stellar rally, Hazari set up a fake qualifying race to trick others into showing off their fastest shuttles. After the player successfully finishes the qualifying race, a Hazari Frigate swoops in and tries to steal the player's vessel.
• “Rivos System Patrol”: The player answers a distress call from a Hazari called Y'Kel. While retrieving his cargo, the player is attacked by Malon scavengers. The original distress signal turns out to be a ploy to collect a bounty on the player. When the player repels the attack, Y'Kel reveals that the contract was posted by Qwen.
• “The Dragon's Deceit”: The player meets Y'Dren in the Kartella System where he completes a contract to provide the player with a holoprojector designed to disguise a starship as a Vaadwaur freighter.
• “Alliances”: Neelix and the player are able to hire the Hazari for the Delta Alliance by offering Y'Dren to appease the Benthan Guard, who demand the extradition of N'Keden - a wanted Hazari criminal and rival of Y'Dren...
• “Tekara System Patrol”: Hazari mercenaries assist conservative Malon who want to preserve the economical status quo in attacking a "revolutionary" waste refinery station in the Tekara System.
• “Takedown”: Coordinated by Neelix, the Hazari support the Delta Alliance's attack on Vaadwaur Prime.
• “What's Left Behind”: A Hazari is among several races imprisoned by the Elachi in a supspace outpost.
• “Dust to Dust”: If the player accepts Hanchon Jetanian's assistance, Hazari bounty hunter Y'Kel helps the Delta ALLiance in repelling a Vaadwaur invasion of Kobali Prime.

Iconian War[]

• “Butterfly”: In a holodeck simulation showing what would happen if Voyager had not woke the Vaadwaur from stasis, the player speaks to a Hazari representative at an ill-fated attempt to form the Delta Alliance, the Hazari explaining that the Hierarchy has stepped up their aggression and escalated tensions among the other races of the Delta Quadrant.

Military[]

According to the information discovered by the Alliance Intelligence Network, Hazari roam the Delta Quadrant singularly or in small groups. If possible, Hazari ships team up when in combat, with one ship reinforcing the shields of the other. This makes their defenses almost impenetrable, but is also a weakness that can be exploited by a skilled tactical officer.
