Tomatekh's Historical Religions

Description
This mod adds additional historical (pre-modern and indigenous) religions to the base game. Leaders previously lacking a religious preference (Aztec, Greece, etc.) are updated to prefer an appropriate historical religion. Several additional generic icons are also included and the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox symbols have been updated.

The mod is fully updated to work with Gathering Storm, Rise and Fall, New Frontier and/or any other combination of DLC

Note:
- It is recommended to disable this mod before using any scenarios which might implement their own religions.
- If using the mod in multiplayer, all players need to have identical settings in the configuration table.

Included Religions:
For a list of the included religions and leader preferences please see the mod's civfanatics page.

Configuration File:
The mod includes configuration options in the "HR_Religions_Config.sql" file which may be used to switch between the Lite and Complete versions of the mod, enable / disable individual religions, randomize leader preferences, change the custom icons, and more.

On a PC the default Steam mod folder is:
~\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\870850597\

However, these folders my vary based on your individual install settings.

Inside that folder is the config file “HR_Religions_Config.sql” which you can open with notebook or similar program. The file has instructions when you open, but you largely just change 0s to 1s or vice versa down the left of the file to enable/disable different loading options and then save the file.

- Lite Mode and Complete Mode:

Historical Religions may be loaded in either a Lite or Complete Mode which can be switched between by using the configuration file

By default, the mod loads in Complete Mode which prompts the mod to load the full list of new religions which can be further customized with the configuration file.

Alternatively, you can use the configuration file to enable Lite Mode which prompts the mod to load with only a minimum of new religions to represent the leaders included within the base game and its DLC.

The configuration file also includes options for

- Unused Religions
- Change Default Names
- Unpreferred Religions as Custom Icons
- Random Preferences
- Alternate Religious Preferences

Adding Mod Support:
For instructions explaining to mod makers how to add support for your custom civilization, please see the mod's civfanatics page.

@StarboundFinch
Glad to hear it worked out and you enjoyed your game!

@tomatekh I was literally coming back here to report that it still worked lmao. I'm glad it did because Religion victories become such a slog if you don't rush it out off rip. I had to wait for Zanzibar to spawn from a barb camp before I could really gun for the AI and my god the Poland and Ottomans were so annoying. Gandhi still takes the cake for the most annoying religious AI I've come across though

Everyone, I logged back in after a long break, and double-checked... the mod is still 100% fully functional and compatible with the latest patch. If it is not working for you, then you likely have either a conflict with another mod you are using, the mod is not properly installed/downloaded, or you haven't enabled it in the mod menu. It's not an issue on my end and I can't really help further.

@StarboundFinch
Mazdayazna is Zoroastrianism. It's just the native name for the religion which the mod will default to using if the Zurvan branch of Zoroastrianism is also present. The mod doesn't overwrite/remove anything. The achievement also still triggers no issue.

@A.Z.Eastern
Since the mod adds new entries to the religion table, it needs to be enabled when you start a new game and can't be added into existing games without messing up everyone's chosen religions.

this mod does not work

Hey so why did this mod replace Zoroastrianism? I've been doing some achievement hunting while I was for Civ 7 and it appears that you overrode Zoroastrianism with Mazdayazna. I'm hoping that it was just renamed and it'll still pop later on (it could be hopeless anyway if Zanzibar is stubbornly absent) Either way, I'll report back if the achievement works still and, if not, I'm gonna have to drop this mod which sucks because I enjoyed the wider variety of religions. I just don't understand why a base game religion was just overwritten/removed

Is it need to start a new game to active?affect the old savefile too?
Can we get the option to rename "Eastern Orthodoxy" to the name actually used by said churches, "Orthodox Christianity"? There are options to rename "Oriental Orthodoxy" to Coptic or Miaphysitism, but not for the Constantinople-based one.

Also no way to custom-name vanilla religions? This would have fixed my issue too.
