The 25-million-strong Akan, a cultural-linguistic group found predominantly in present-day Ghana and to a lesser extent Togo and Ivory Coast, has established a legacy as widely known as its bright kente cloth. They include the speakers of the Akyem, Anyi, Asante, Attié, Baule, Bono, Chakosi, Fante, and Guang languages.

According to oral tradition the Fante separated from the other Akan groups in present day Brong Ahafo around 1250 AD. This act became the origin of their name, “Fa-atsew” meaning “half that left”. The Fante left their Akan brethren at Krako, present day Techiman in the Bono East of Ghana, and became their own distinct Akan group. The Fante people were led by three great warriors known as Oburumankoma (the Whale), Odapagyan (the Eagle), and Oson (the Elephant).

Is there any tutorials on creating custom leaders? I'm trying to add one of my own.

> line infantry but be unbuildable after gunpowder
This actually should be doable. I'll look into it.

Sorry to spam comments but noticed one more thing playing Oson, if you move magnus to the capital and he has his no population loss from settlers ability, when you move him back away from the capital it seems like you start losing pop from building settlers again. I know this is a firaxis bug and may be unavoidable but just wanted to make a note of it just in case.

Or come to think of it, failing those two options, maybe nerf the gunpowder bonus of the okofo from +10 to +5. That way they can still stick around and punch above their era but the musketman upgrade isn't something completely counterproductive.

I feel like they are very strong and would still remain so, I probably still wouldn't bother upgrading to musketmen but it wouldn't be a completely boneheaded thing to do if the AI or a new player did it.

Does the AI know enough not to spend money and niter to upgrade them to musketmen?

I don't guess there's a way to make them upgrade to line infantry but be unbuildable after gunpowder, or have them increase in price after gunpowder to musketman levels?

It is intentional

The Okofo is supposed to be a cheap alternative to the Man-at-Arms that's supposed to remain viable as Musketmen come online without needing to upgrade. In return for the cheapness, you can't pre-produce them, and they aren't available for incredibly long.
