Desert Rovers are battle tank robots, manufactured and utilised by Andross' army on Titania during the Lylat Wars.
Appearance[]
Desert Rovers are cone shaped robots, equipped with a dual barrelled, laser cannon and twin tank treads for travel. Their movement is limited so their patrol path is set, making them fairly easy targets.
Enemy Recon[]
- “Roving tankbots patrol the deserts of Titania, steadfastly rolling along launching laser missiles from their cannons. Unlike your Landmaster, however, these tanks aren't very maneuvrable, so they tend to move along on a fairly fixed and predictable path. it takes only a single blast to obliterate one.”

Medal Tips[]
- “As usual, bombs will help you take out clusters of enemies in this mission. Destroying the lead ships in attacking squadrons with a charged laser bolt will take out the followers with a single shot. Also, if you destroy the lead robot on the right hillside with a bomb, it will sometimes cause a chain reaction with the other robots on the hill.”

History[]
When Slippy Toad crashed on the planet, Fox McCloud took to using their unique Landmaster tank in the search for him, as Corneria's tank corps were at the time limited. Desert Rovers patrolled the desert at the time, and intercepted the Landmaster, but they were no match for the Star Fox team's superior, modified tank and the rovers were destroyed, with their destruction's added to the service invoice.
When the turncoat Cornerian chief executive researcher Captain Shears was in command of the Titania research base, some Desert Rovers were kept in storage, next to the Landmaster they captured along with Slippy. These remaining Desert Rovers were most likely destroyed along with the research base when Fox destroyed the newly born Andross clone with a Smart Bomb.
