Based on a manta ray, Floatsams sport a pink center and tail, with a wavy gray rim surrounding them. They also feature two gray jets with pink tips attached to their underside.

In Knuckles' Chaotix, Floatsams can be found in Marina Madness, where they simply hover in straight lines, making no effort to attack the player. They can be destroyed using any attack, upon which they will drop a Dark Ring.
