The King of Fighters series[]

Past[]

KOFXIII-AshandElis

Ash and Elisabeth in their childhood.

Ash is the descendant of Saiki. When he was living in France, he spent his childhood years with Elisabeth Blanctorche. For reasons still not entirely divulged, he left her household and the Blanctorche teachings.

Tales of Ash[]

The King of Fighters 2003[]

Ash stealing Chizuru's Yata Mirror.

Ash enters the 2003 edition of The King of Fighters tournament alongside Duo Lon and Shen Woo. While his teammates leave him to solve their own vendettas, Ash goes to the Orochi seal where Kyo, Chizuru, and Iori are investigating. Ash ambushes a weakened Chizuru, robs her powers, and leaves her unconscious. He taunts that Iori will be next before fleeing from the scene.

The King of Fighters XI[]

Ash enters the next tournament with Shen and Oswald. After the tournament's events, he reveals to Oswald that Shen is the target he has been contracted to assassinate, a set up that Ash had in place before the tournament occurred. After leaving his teammates to fight amongst themselves, Ash takes advantage of Iori's unstable Riot of the Blood state to steal the Yasakani Jewel. Before he leaves the tournament grounds, Elisabeth Blanctorche and her team appears before him.

Rival Team confronting Ash.

She accuses Ash of abandoning "their mission" and fighting for personal gain. To intimidate her, he unleashes his new purple flames and disappears using the Yata Mirror. He warns them that Kyo is next.

The King of Fighters XIII[]

Prior to the KOF XIII tournament, Ash openly joins forces with Those from the Past and works for their master. During the tournament finals, his true motives are revealed: his previous actions were done to earn Saiki's trust and to gain enough power to rob Saiki's soul. He wants to end their bloodline. Ash was about to carry out his true plan when Saiki finally lowers his guard, but then, Saiki's essence overwhelms and posses him.

Ash and Saiki erased

The erase of the existence is complete.

After being defeated again by the winning team, Ash regains control of his body. Saiki insists Ash to enter the Time Gate, which will allow them to return to a previous era and begin their entire plan over again. Since Ash likes the current world, he allows the gate to close. His inaction erases both him and Saiki from time. Ash has a few moments to apologize to Elisabeth (Betty) before fading from existence. He leaves the stolen sacred treasures behind for Iori and Chizuru to reclaim.

Shun'ei Saga[]

The King of Fighters XIV[]

Ash in the Official Invitation Team's ending.

As implied by Nakoruru, Ash Crimson's act of erasing Saiki (and consequently, his own self) from existence by orchestrating a temporal paradox—trapping Saiki in the present time—sets up the events in the game and results in the appearance of the entity known as Verse.

After Verse's defeat, Ash's soul is released and is found by Kukri and Elisabeth in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. While he is still in coma-state, Ash is confirmed to be alive again.[1]

The King of Fighters XV[]

Prior to the fifteenth tournament, Kukri meets up with Ash and Elisabeth in a café in Southern France and explains his own backgrounds to them. However, he later tells them that he made it up. Despite everything he did to try and locate Dolores, Kukri is annoyed that they found Ash instead. During a live interview introducing new competitors for The King of Fighters tournament, Dolores appears on the screen, shocking Kukri. Due to this sudden news, Kukri storms out of the establishment, with Elisabeth following him. Ash stays behind to finish his meal and chuckles over Kukri's "made-up story" before catching up with them.[2]

Thanks to Kukri’s confirmation that the defeat of Re Verse and Otoma=Raga is needed to restore the proper state of the multiverse, Ash and the other fighters who died once in the past, like the returning Team Orochi and Kukri’s master Dolores, remain alive. This is much to Elisabeth’s relief who was worried about the outcome of the battle. After Ash and Elisabeth part ways with Kukri, who reunites with Dolores to return to the Middle East, the French fighters make phone calls to both of their old allies, Duo Lon and Shen Woo, to meet up in Shanghai and celebrate Ash’s return. This helps them fully recover their past memories with Ash. While Shen and Duo Lon arrive on time at a restaurant in Shanghai, Ash is as usual late for the reunion, this time because he has been busy shopping ever since he was revived, to Elisabeth’s dismay. Returning to France on the next day, Ash and Elisabeth are seen relaxing in the same garden from their childhood, relieved by the former’s permanent return to the land of the living.

Maximum Impact series[]

Ash's life in this timeline is exactly the same as his mainline counterpart up until The King of Fighters 2003.

The King of Fighters: Another Day[]

Ash appears in the 4th and final episode of The King of Fighters: Another Day. Kyo is seen looking for him during a raging fire in South Town. During the scuffle, Kyo runs into Alba Meira, with the latter thinking that he burned down the city. After a long fight, Iori appears to break up the fight and to inform Kyo that Ash escaped. Alba calls off the fight, realizing that Kyo didn't burn the city. Ash is seen leaving Southtown on a boat with Elisabeth and the city gradually recovers.
