Viterbo is a very old city and a comune in the Lazio region of Central Italy, the capital of the province of Viterbo.
The University of Tuscia, established in 1979, is in the city of Viterbo.
Geography
[change | change source]The comune of Viterbo has an area of 406.23 km2 (156.85 sq mi), the largest comune of the province, and its altitude is 326 m (1,070 ft) above sea level.[2]
The comune borders with the comuni Bagnoregio, Bomarzo, Canepina, Caprarola, Celleno, Civitella d'Agliano, Graffignano, Marta, Monte Romano, Montefiascone, Ronciglione, Soriano nel Cimino, Tuscania, Vetralla, Vitorchiano.[4]
