Maria Carolina of Austria

Archduchess of Austria; Queen consort of Naples and Sicily as the wife of King Ferdinand IV & III

Maria Carolina of Austria (13 May 1717 – 29 November 1780) was the Queen of Naples and Sicily through her marriage to Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies. She was the daughter of Emperor Francis I and Maria Theresa of Austria.[1]

Maria Carolina was born in Vienna. She had two sisters with the same name, but both of them died as babies. She was close friends with her sister Marie Antoinette. She married Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies in 1768.[1]
