The first season of Sex Education consists of eight episodes. All episodes were released on Netflix on 11 January 2019. In February 2019, Netflix renewed Sex Education for a second season that was released on 17 January 2020.
Set in the fictional town of Moordale in early 2020s, the story follows a group of teenagers attending Moordale Secondary; Otis, an awkward and a bit nerdy boy, whose mother is Jean, a sex therapist, who wants to ingerate in his life as much as possible. Otis's best friend, Eric, gay from very religious African family, who's bullied by headmaster's son, Adam. Aimee, Adam's girlfriend as well as a member of school's the Untouchables clique alongside Ruby, Olivia and Anwar, who's secretly friends with Maeve, a loner feminist who sets up the sex clinic at school with Otis. All while school's swimming team star, Jackson, is trying his best to get to Maeve's heart. There's also Lily, a girl obsessed with writing stories about aliens with penis hands, and Ola, who wants to move to Moordale Secondary and becomes Otis's love interest.
Synopsis
Insecure Otis has all the answers when it comes to sex advice, thanks to his therapist mother. So rebel Maeve proposes a school sex-therapy clinic.

Trivia
- This is the only season to not have Chinenye Ezeudu be part of the cast, since her character, Viv, didn't make her first appearance until next season.
- Season 1 is the only season to feature Eric's father, Abeo, on the screen.
- Lily, Jakob and Ola are the only main cast characters that didn't appear in the first episode.
