Objective: Due to there is no eye ellipse for Chinese driver, this study aimed at carrying out research on the eye ellipse test of Chinese drivers. Methods: This test used camera position method (SAE) to measure the eye ellipse. 510 drivers (250 males and 260 females) participated in the test. The height ranged from 151.0�cm to 195.0�cm for males and 144.0�cm to 174.6�cm for females. The mean driving age (DA) was 6.1 years for males, and 4.7 years for females. Result: (1) The 95 percentile eye ellipse of the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis were 254.9�mm, 72.3�mm, and 114.9�mm, and the 99 percentile of X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis were 315.4�mm, 89.6�mm, and 142.8�mm, which were fitted in the X-Z plane direction. And the X-Z plane fitted eye ellipse was tilted forward and downward with an angle of 11�. (2) The distance between the center points of the left and right eye ellipses from the Y = 0 plane was 30.3�mm, and the coordinates of the X-axis and Z-axis of the eye ellipse center point were 628�mm and 623�mm. Conclusion: Compare with SAE J941-2010 eye ellipse, the length of the eye ellipse axis in this study is larger, the center position in the car is more forward and lower. There is no significant difference in the inclination angle.
