Abstract
The European Commission in its Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027) sets the objective of readjusting education and training to the digital age. It highlights two main guidelines to reach this goal. Firstly, to promote the development of a high-performing digital education ecosystem and, secondly, to enhance digital skills and competences for the digital transformation. Inspired by this transformative spirit, the University of Burgos (UBU) proposes a roadmap to set up a digital educational model around e-learning as a key factor. In the academic year 2015–2016 the institution implemented for the first time an online Engineering Degree. Since then, sixteen official degrees have been developed to shape the map of the online academic offer in the institution (five Online Degree studies, four Online Master studies, seven Streaming Master studies). The objective of this paper is to evaluate the e-learning criteria to improve the academic and functional results of PhD studies. The methodological approach consists in a quantitative evaluation (eighteen items in rubric format) that gather interest data in e-learning approach with the Intranet Tool. The concluded results allow stablishing foresight and actions for being a reference in e-learning education in PhD studies at UBU.
