1.1 The introductory part of this note [1] pays due homage to Epstein and Axtell's (1996)
seminal book on the social simulation model known as Sugarscape. Two comments follow:
first, on so-called methodological individualism and second, on the possibility of defining a
robust framework for the development of agent based simulation models, such as
Sugarscape. Replies to these comments would be more than welcome. It is useful to
