Use a bookshelf turned on it's side to store wrapping paper, fabric, etc. I used this same idea in my closet, under my hung clothes, to hold my folded sweaters.

I love this as an alternative to a dresser (or to line the wall of a walk in closet). It makes more sense to me to have jeans and shirts stacked on shelves like this anyway!
