RR&D Community Licence

Version 1.07 Last updated: 17th October 2024

This license allows you to make stuff that builds on our games or is compatible with them, and either publish it for free or sell it, without us taking a cut. If you are unsure about doing something with our games that isn‘t covered here please get in touch with us to discuss it. You can contact us through our contact form or by email at admin@rowanrookanddecard.com. If you make something using this licence, please let us know about it, as we’d love to see what you’ve made!

If you create a printed product that’s compatible with one of our games, please contact us so that we can discuss buying some copies of your work to sell on our website. We want to support your creative efforts.

This licence applies to:

  • Heart, Spire and other Destera games
  • Games based on the Resistance toolbox
  • Voidheart Symphony, Unbound, Royal Blood, Goblin Quest and other stand-alone games by RR&D or UFO Press
  • Grant Howitt’s One Page RPG series
  • Eat The Reich
  • Games based on the Havoc Engine

It doesn’t apply to Legacy: Life Among The Ruins Second Edition and its spin-offs, which have their own Worlds of Legacy SRD licence you can use. It also doesn’t apply to the UFO Press title Shattered City, or to the DIE RPG.

We do not finalise the community license for a game until after the project has been released to the public. If you are looking to create open license content for any game that has not yet been published (for example, Hollows), please write to admin@rowanrookanddecard.com for guidance.

Please note that this license does not now, and will not ever, permit you to create NFTs or cryptocurrency tokens that are based on, or use any of, our games or artwork.

We also expressly forbid the use of our games, writing and art in the training of generative AI tools.
