~ Scarlet, trying to justify her cruel treatment of others. |
“ | Aha... Thanks for that compliment. You see, the world can be a cruel place. Nobody ever has reasons, we just do it because we enjoy it. You're either an asshole or a weakling. That's life. I hate to break it to you *whispers* not really *stops whispering* but your free trial of being able to live is over. That's it, no more framing, no more useless gang. I'll kill you and your friends with my bare hands... But first, I'll have fun tormenting you. | „ |
~ Scarlet explaining her love for hurting others. |
Scarlet Spiker is the secondary antagonist of the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy, serving as the main antagonist of Inkopolis Chaos, an unseen overarching antagonist in Inkopolis Chaos 2, and one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Sub Lieutenant Blakeson) of Inkopolis Chaos 3. She is a mean-spirited red inkling who enjoys bullying others for her own amusement, and is the leader of the red team. While at first, she seems like a typical bully, later on, it’s revealed how downright cruel she truly is.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- She bullies other inklings for her own amusement, whether it’s verbal or physical.
- She is highly racist to Octolings, constantly referring to them with the offensive racial slur, “Pit Dweller”.
- She and her gang beat Samuel up in a forest all because he stood up against her.
- She is a complete hypocrite, as she accuses Samuel of relying on “evil things” (Octolings, who aren’t actually evil), yet she is evil herself, and admits it.
- She and her gang grabbed an innocent inkling off the street and beat them into a coma, while dressed up as Samuels gang, just to frame them.
- She ordered her gang to throw Natalie off a cliff.
- When her gang got attacked by a vengeful Ruby, instead of killing her on the spot, she sadistically left her to slowly die, and kicked her before leaving.
- She abuses her gang, and only sees them as tools. For example, she slaps James and screams in his face for criticizing her.
- In prison, James states that Scarlet threatened to slit Jess’s throat.
- Her horrible treatment of them caused James and Jess to stop associating with her entirely.
- She was even willing to let them die in an explosion if she didn’t join Lt. Obsidian, which even shocked Sub Lieutenant Blakeson.
- She kidnaps Natalie, and sadistically tortures her by lighting her on fire, spraying her with water, beating her and cutting her, which almost kills her. Even a year later, Natalie still has a massive burn scar on her back, which seems to be a very sensitive topic. It’s even confirmed that the torture she received still gives Natalie nightmares,
- During the climax, while her gang members follow turf war rules, she grabs Melody by the neck and throws her off Moray Towers, and stabs Ruby with a knife, which is unnecessarily brutal. She could’ve easily used ink, but instead she took the extra mile just to make them suffer.
- She sadistically threatens Samuel and Natalie that she will cut both their hearts out, and store them on her shelf, while pointing a knife at them. She also goes on about how she will kill them over and over.
- Even Cyalux Clover, another villain who hates Octolings, is disgusted by some of her actions.
- When she is freed from prison by Lt. Obsidian, she shows no gratitude, even calling her a pit dweller. She only agrees to work with her when she is offered cash, and even then, she later reveals that she was going to betray them after she kills Samuel and his friends.
- She states that once she overtakes Lt. Obsidian, she would use her new power to destroy peace between Inklings and Octolings, which basically means lots of discrimination at best, and a race war at worst.
- She shot Sylvia with a tranquilliser. Even if she was aiming for Samuel instead, it’s Scarlet's fault that Sylvia got taken to a concentration camp and got traumatised.
- When Samuel and Jade were having a deep and personal conversation, she came in out of nowhere, insulted them and then got them arrested by Lieutenant Obsidian.
- She murders 11 random Inklings/Octolings in cold blood, via brutal methods via slitting throat or decapitation, and one of those victims was a 9 year old.
- Despite Commander Tartar and Lieutenant Obsidian being more evil than her, she still stands out as Pure Evil due to having less resources, her personal vileness, lack of a genuine tragedy explaining her actions and her intent of starting a war.
- While Scarlet had a pretty difficult childhood due to being neglected by her parents, she began to admire villains in fiction, which ended up in her wanting to be evil too. In a thirst for popularity, she began to bully weaker people to get higher up in the popularity ranks, but ended up taking sadistic glee in it. Eventually she became a full on card-carrying villain when she was outed for incriminating Samuel, Natalie, Luke and Sylvia. Her past doesn’t make her tragic due to her actions and because she chose to translate her neglect into harming everyone else just for fun, making her too heinous and vile to be sympathetic.
- Unlike many other villains in the trilogy who are at least tragic, have some redeeming qualities or a slightly sympathetic past, Scarlett has none of those and is portrayed nothing more than a ruthless monster
Trivia[]
- She, alongside, Lieutenant Obsidian are the only villains to be Pure Evil in the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy.
- Scarlet was originally rejected due to it being thought she failed the heinous standards. However, due to having less resources, it wasn’t much of a big deal. That, along with her becoming worse in Inkopolis Chaos 3 with mass murder newly under her belt, and intending to start a race war, she finally did enough to be considered Pure Evil.
