Eddy "Ahiga" Nez was the primary antagonist of the New Frontier Trilogy by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and Anthony J. Melchiorri. He was the founder and leader of the Rattlesnake Union, who started a war to take over the New Frontier. He served as a minor antagonist in Wild Fire and the main antagonist of Wild Lands and Wild Warriors.
What Makes Him Pure Evil[]
- Eddy Nez created and led the Rattlesnake Union and made plans to wage war against the U.S. government.
- Eddy knew about the Reapers (the main antagonistic faction of Wild Fire, who tried to destroy America through bioterrorism) but did nothing to stop them.
- During their hunt for the Reapers, Raven and his team were attacked by Eddy and his Rattlesnakes. Eddy tried to capture them for his own purposes, but failed and his face was scarred by fire. After that event, he developed a small fear of fire and vowed to kill Raven.
- After the defeat of the Reapers, Eddy expanded his organization and prepared for war against the U.S. and foreign forces in the New Frontier.
- He led a successful attack on an important water treatment and power facility and destroyed it as part of Operation White Buffalo, killing many people in the process.
- When Raven was captured by one of his allies, Eddy forced Jay into attempting to murder Raven by threatening his family.
- Eddy captured Jay, who used to be his friend, and tortured him. He probably would've killed him, if he hadn't managed to escape.
- He took Jay's ex-wife and child hostage.
- He captured Jay's brother Seth and then corrupted and brainwashed him into joining his side.
- He led successful attacks on Estes Park and Fort Golden, killing many people in the process.
- He freed many prisoners from Fort Golden and recruited them into his army.
- He sacrificed many of his soldiers, including his second in command Robert Cosey, as a diversion in Albany to lead successful attacks on Estes Park and Fort Golden. The attacks resulted in the demise of many people, including Palmer.
- During the offensive against Estes Park, his forces attacked and ravaged a tranquil community called Allenspark.
- Eddy Nez and his forces torched Estes Park, a feat that even Sheriff Mike Thompson, the leader of Fort Collins, and General Dan Fenix, the leader of the Sons of Liberty, failed to accomplish, despite working together.
- He used false promises and propaganda to get many communities in the New Frontier to join him. He killed and tortured anyone who refused to follow him.
- He relentlessly defamed and demonized the US government, in order to get support.
- He destroyed the Regeneraid facility and kidnapped Dr. Wheeler, heavily setting back the development of the Commander, the cure of the Wild Fire.
- His brutal actions caused the loss of foreign aid to USA and the splitting of the New Frontier.
- He kidnapped and enslaved Dr. Wheeler and used him to develop his own stocks of Commander, in order to use them to tighten his grip on his followers.
- He ruled his conquered territories through terror and violence.
- He sent assassins after Raven, Calvin and Lindsey, which led to several deaths.
- He executed and abused any of his followers who he deemed as disloyal, cowardly, incompetent and selfish.
- He burned Lucas Osborne to death.
- He abused and threatened Ryan Lincoln for failing to kill Raven, Lindsey and Calvin and made him dump bodies infected with Wild Fire in the water sources of a few communities, even hoping that he would get caught and die, so he won't have to personally kill him for wearing out his usefulness. Later, he sent Ryan after Raven's team, threatening to kill him if he failed to take them down.
- He personally killed one of Ryan's soldiers named Colby for failing to kill Raven and Calvin and fleeing from them.
- On Seth's suggestion, he forced Grant Smulders and another member of Ryan's militia to engage in a fight to the death, declaring that the winner would live and be granted leadership of the Liberty Militia.
- He strangled one of his own men to death just for being fearful of losing and dying in battle.
- He captured and tortured POWs for information, executing them as soon as they become useless.
- He enslaved many white people and used them for his own construction projects.
- He used Wild Fire, the virus used by the Reapers, to tighten his hold on his followers, mercilessly subjecting people to it to ensure they would depend on him.
- To ensure loyalty, he took many hostages, including children from several communities.
- He led a successful attack on Salt Lake City and took over it, making it his headquarters. He killed all of the city's defenders and mercilessly oppressed its innocent residents, just for being white people.
- He ruthlessly shot an innocent man in front of his son, just for begging for food.
- His only redeeming quality was his determination to free the Native Americans from the control of the US government, due to his anger and hatred for all the pain and suffering the white men inflicted on his people. This was subverted when he used his brutal tactics on his fellow Native Americans, if they opposed and/or disagreed with him and his rule. This proved that he was guided by his own fury, prejudice, sadism and lust for power, rather than any love for his fellow Native Americans. As a result, many Native Americans saw him as evil and tyrannical and decided to rebel against him.
- He made efforts to sabotage the US government's recovery efforts and continue his war despite signing a peace treaty, by launching false flag terrorist attacks and provoking and forcing his own people into attacking places outside of his control.
- He unleashed Wild Fire plague on the Rocky Mountains by contaminating water sources, endangering Calvin and Raven's loved ones and community.
- He made a plan to unleash the Wild Fire plague to the rest of the United States and commit a genocide of white people.
- He had the President of the Navajo Nation assassinated and then got him replaced by one of his supporters. He imprisoned the President's legitimate heir and took many residents of the Navajo Nation hostage.
- When Raven, Lindsey, Calvin and their allies launched an attack on Salt Lake City he fought alongside his men, refusing to surrender and mercilessly and angrily killing any enemy soldier he came across.
- When it became clear that victory was impossible, Eddy chose to flee on a stolen train and decided to carry out his plan of committing genocide against the white people through the Wild Fire in his possession.
- While battling Raven and his team on his train, Eddy threw Raven's dog Creek off the train, nearly killing him.
- Throughout the series, Eddy made several attempts to kill Raven. In his final attempt, Raven managed to kill him atop a train.
- Eddy's actions made him a hated figure for the series' protagonists.
Trivia[]
- Eddy Nez was the only Pure Evil antagonist of the New Frontier Trilogy, though Amir, the main antagonist of Wild Fire, would probably also count.
