NOTE: This page is only about his original incarnation as his Ice Queendom incarnation was not voted Pure Evil, thus only the original version of Adam's info should be put here.

“ I am making humanity PAY for what they have done! „
~ Adam, showing his misanthropic side.
“ Adam Taurus: People hurt me long before we met! All sorts of people in all sorts of ways. But no one hurt me quite like you. You didn't leave scars, you just left me alone. So... tell me, Blake; how does it feel to be alone?
Blake: I am not alone!
„
~ Adam, explaining his reasons for revenge against Blake before learning that Blake is getting help from Yang in order to defeat him for good.

Adam Taurus is a major antagonist in the RWBY franchise. He is the arch-nemesis of both Blake Belladonna (as well as her ex-boyfriend and former mentor) and Yang Xiao Long.

A malevolent, sadistic, and spiteful bull Faunus, Adam thought the world owed him for being abused by society. In his own twisted sense of justice, Adam claimed to be fighting for Faunus equality when is actuality, he wanted to subjugate the humans to slavery and to eradicate those who stood in his way to satisfy his sadism.

He was voiced by Garrett Hunter and by YÅ«ichi Nakamura (who also voiced Yuuki Terumi in the BlazBlue series) in the Japanese dubbed version.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Althought he has a genuine tragedy of being a slave of Schnee Dust company, implied with his theme song "Lionize" and confirmed by the writers, it was never fully seen in the show and his obsession with revenge to the point that he no longer cares about other Faunus has subverted his tragedy.
    • Furthermore, when he reveals his scar, he juxtaposes it by claiming that Blake "abandoning" him hurt worse than any of his past abuse, undermining his supposed trauma in comparison to a slight against his ego.
  • He committed multiple terrorist acts with no consideration for any of the innocent civilians who died in them, all the while covering them up by posing as a well-intentioned extremist.
  • Murdered numerous innocent people, all to satisfy his bloodlust.
  • Took pleasure in physically and mentally abusing Blake.
  • Took part in the Fall of Beacon by unleashing a horde of Grimm onto the city during the Vytal Festival.
  • Tried to kill Blake all because he wanted revenge for her turning on him, when in reality, his abuse of her is what drove her away from him in the first place.
  • Before attempting to murder Blake in cold blood, he swore to her that he would stop at nothing to destroy everything she loved (which he repeatedly proved multiple times later in the series).
  • Sliced off Yang's arm during one of his attempts at killing Blake, almost killing both of them.
  • Murdered Sienna Khan in cold blood and usurped her position as the High Leader of the White Fang.
  • Sent Corsac and Fennec Albain to Menagerie in a attempt to assassinate Blake’s parents named Ghira and Kali Belladonna.
  • Lead a White Fang attack on Haven Academy in an attempt to destroy it, and even tried to detonate explosives to kill himself, Blake and all of the other Faunus present (including the ones that were part of the White Fang).
  • He slaughtered his former followers of the White Fang when they questioned his actions.
  • After attempting to destroy Haven, he returned to stalking Blake in his attempts to murder her as revenge for her "ruining his life" which in actuality was something that he brought upon himself.
  • He never truly loved or cared about Blake and only manipulated her to stay by his side, as pointed out by Yang asking if Blake made a promise to him or the person he was pretending to be.
  • He uses his tragic past of suffering constant racism as an excuse for his various murders. Even the narrative makes it clear that he commits his crimes out of sadism and doesn't care about anyone else.
  • He didn't listen to Yang and Blake who gave him multiple chances to leave the past behind and leave them alone. Rather, he just got angry at them instead, thinking they were just trying to weasel their way out of fighting him. This means that Adam is ultimately a sadistic psychopath that is beyond saving.
  • Despite the high heinous standard of RWBY, Adam stands out due to his personal villainy towards Blake and Yang.
  • While he did originally care about his fellow Faunus when he joined the White Fang, he slowly became more sadistic and willing to kill more humans after he was praised by his fellow White Fang members for killing one to protect Ghira, and wanted to enslave humanity so the Faunus would reign supreme, therefore subverting this kind of redeeming quality as result.

Trivia[]

  • Adam’s counterpart in Ice Queendom does not count as Pure Evil due to still being a extremist who cares for other Faunus and has respect for Blake.
