Cécile, his wife, fiercely denies the fact but Bernard doesn't give up on it. To find peace and destroy the doubt eating away at him, he tries to persuade Cécile to take a lover, the best way for him to get the evidence of his misfortune. Cécile, prompted by her husband, makes a slight attempt at it with a businessman she works with. But she soon finds him boring and calls it quits.
