His accident raises as much controversy as before the lifestyle and harsh language of the author's novel. In the atmosphere of scandal, the writer's family appears in a quarrel in Krakow. Above the coffin, in an extraordinary funeral home, a liberated anthropologist and a traveler meet, and Tomasz's ex-wife; a sister who served the writer as the prototype of the cruel witch, cult figure in Polish literature; a son who wants to stand out in his father's fame and an enterprising daughter who runs a morally questionable business. Seeing the unflagging interest in the deceased, two political forces begin to take an interest in his ashes. The thought of organizing a funeral of the century springs in the minds of their representatives, which will help them gain recognition in the eyes of a divided society.
