If held by Porygon, it evolves into Porygon2 when being traded. This consumes the Upgrade.

The Upgrade appears in Red and Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky as an evolution item, similar to the main series games.
If the player has a Link Cable and an Upgrade, Porygon can be evolved into Porygon2 in Luminous Cave or Luminous Spring. After evolution, both items are consumed.
