Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire is a utility game for the Nintendo GameCube which released in 2003 in Japan and in 2004 in English-speaking regions, including North America, Europe, and Australia.
The game had limited availability. In the United States, Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire was only available from the Pokémon Center in New York City or from its now-defunct website. In Europe, consumers could obtain Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire through Europe's loyalty program or from purchasing the Pokémon Colosseum Mega Pack.
Gameplay[]
Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire serves mainly as a Pokémon Storage System in the form of a game, because it allows the user to store up to 1,500 Pokémon from Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version, especially in cases where the Pokémon Storage System is either at or nearing maximum capacity. The game was retroactively designed to be also compatible with the other Generation III core series titles, Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version and Pokémon Emerald Version.
Aside from being used to store Pokémon, Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire allows the player to play either Pokémon Ruby Version or Pokémon Sapphire Version by connecting their Game Boy Advance to the television using a Game Link Cable.
