Green

Colour is crucial. It makes us happy – when we get it right! Thirty years of experience in putting colour schemes together teaches you that while you can combine them in striking contrast or subtle harmony, they only work when the tonality is right. All of our colours are from the same tonal family, this makes them easy to combine with the other elements of your interior design schemes. This board is all about going GREEN!

Green interior inspiration
Called so as historically an un-dyed cloth was known as a 'drap’, and its use in colour terminology came to mean a lightish brown. We first hear of 'Drab Green' mentioned in interiors during the 18th century and we love this versatile and sophisticated colour, at home on a wall as it is on woodwork. One of the 12 earthy tones that make up 'The Northern Light Palette', curated by @jessicabuckleyinteriors and @edward_bulmer, these colours do the work for you when choosing a scheme for smaller or dimly lit rooms. Including two new off white shades which we're so excited for you to try. Article by @gaboushk for @houseandgardenuk 📷️ @rachelwhitingphotographer

Verdigris on the front cover of House & Garden
The writing is most definitely on the wall at the Kent home of artist @robertmontgomeryghost and actress @gretabellamacina. The couple have revived their Georgian home with colour, antiques and artworks. The scheme is a jewel box of candy colours, decorated in bright decorum. ‘The English countryside, by way of an Italian palazzo’ Greta explains ‘When we bought the house, it was lockdown and we were pining for Italy. We didn’t spend huge amounts of money on furniture, but we invested in paint, she says, gesturing to the Verdigris-coloured dining room’ Our favourite cover of the year @houseandgardenuk November 2024 featuring ‘Verdigris’. 'Celadon' bringing harmony to this shower suite by @carolineriddellinteriors. Soft and subtle grey/green with a luminous side to it giving it brightness and the ability to open up a space. 'Celadon' is packed full of pigment, containing yellow ochre, Prussian blue and a touch of black. A completely balanced colour which pairs well here with darker wood and the prettiest tiles. Celadon is available in 100% full colour, pictured here, and 3 lighter shades with 60%, 40% and 20% less pigment to help you find your prefect shade. 📷️ by @rachelsmithphotography

Elegant and traditional bedroom painted in Drab Green
Drab Green, used here by @christian_bense. A guest room full of character with this statement armoire taking centre stage. Using a darker earthy green with brown undertones can be very grounding in a scheme and this green is far from drab, instead it exudes an understated elegance. Give your interiors depth and nuance, pair it effortlessly with other colours and all types of wood - see how it works with dark mahogany here. Made from the finest natural ingredients, our paints are chemical free and non-toxic. Beautiful, honest and breathable!

nteriors by @coalcornwall to the backdrop of 'Pippin', a wonderfully earthy green which changes beautifully in the light. Tempered with a little black pigment to give it some edge, robust and not too much umber, meaning it can suit almost any type of room. With a keen interest in history and architecture, our natural library of colours complements the @coalcornwall style so well, a focus on natural materials and timeless antiques. Thank you Emily and Joe! 📷️ @loganirvinemacdougal
