Kete of flax and pingao, patterned kit. The whakapapa (commencement sequence) of this kete whakairo is laid out in dextrals of undyed harakeke strips and sinistrals of undyed harakeke alternating with pingao strips. The dominant pattern is a combination of whakapuareare, takitahi and mahitihiti. The kete is finished along the top with a serrated rim of alternating folding down of the strips.
