Deep roots at wheaton labs - rent for life

$25,000 for one acre.  $50,000 for three acres.

This arrangement can be terminated by either party at any time for any or no reason.  If the relationship ends in less than ten years, the funds paid are returned less 10% per year after the first post is put in the ground.

Renter cannot put their post in the ground until they have met some minimum requirements of understanding our overall standards here.   Maybe having listened to most podcasts.  Maybe a combination of books and podcasts.  Maybe a combination of books, podcasts and time in the bootcamp.  The important thing is that we only want deep roots people that are a good fit for our community and appreciate our values.

Im very excited to have found your program, although I don’t actually know how I found it?  It seems to have fallen from the sky into my lap!

Out of curiosity- if you work the boot camp for 2 years, do you still need to shell out the 20k? Sorry, I couldn’t quite find complete clarity on this.

This post says 20-50k for the program, and I couldn’t find anything about doing only work for trade in the older posts/comments. Since this post also didn’t mention it, I figured it is worth asking about. <3

At this moment:  two years in the bootcamp (and the second year is some sort of leadership role - or three years without leadership)  and no further coin to get an acre of deep roots.  

Sounds ideal for the right minded person.
Co-ops can be difficult for some people in my experience, and the 2 -3 year bootcamp concept would allow anybody determine if they are a good fit.

The combo of either paying in time or cash is a great idea. For those who have already invested years in the rat race and have some money saved can pay that way, while a younger person or someone without a nest egg can invest the time in not only buying deep roots, but also in learning a lot of useful skills. Not only the hands-on homesteading skills they will need once on their own acre, but also the community skills of working with others.

Paul: perhaps updating the original post to include links to your HOA podcasts or just the primary podcasts page would be helpful?
