Kinga[3] is an infamous New World pirate who was once a member of the Whitebeard Pirates[4] before forming his own crew subordinate to Whitebeard.[3]

Appearance[]

He is a rather tall man with brown hair and a thin mustache. His hair sticks up into the air, and he wears an open blue shirt.[1]

In the anime, he does not have a mustache.[2]

Thirty years ago, Kinga was visibly younger, and kept his hair straight upward. He wore a dark yellow kimono.[4][5]

In his concept art, Kinga wears Japanese-style clothes and wields a sword.

Personality[]

Not much is known of Kinga's personality, other than that he was willing to fight to save Ace.[1]

Abilities and Powers[]

Kinga is a fearsome pirate who has managed to achieve an infamous reputation in the New World, and to make an alliance with the Whitebeard Pirates.[3] In both his original concept art and the anime, he is shown wielding a sword, but his proficiency with it is unknown.

History[]

Past[]

As early as thirty years ago, Kinga was still an immediate member of the Whitebeard Pirates. Non-canonically, he was seen cheering when the crew ran into a hostile ship, and was shocked when Oden cut it in one slice.[5]

When Momonosuke was born, Kinga cheered alongside his crewmates. He later participated in the discussion about forming divisions in the crew.[4]

Kinga later established his own crew and became an infamous pirate himself, while remaining subordinate to Whitebeard.[3]

Summit War Saga[]

Marineford Arc[]

When Portgas D. Ace was to be executed at Marineford, Kinga and his crew joined forces with the Whitebeard Pirates to save him.[1]

Non-canonically, Kinga watched as Luffy defeated a member of the Giant Squad, cheering for him.[2]

Kinga reacted with shock alongside Delacuaji and other Whitebeard Pirates members as Garp blocked Luffy's ascent to Ace.[1]

Anime and Manga Differences[]

Blond Kinga

Kinga's initial appearance, reacting to Garp blocking Luffy, was removed in the anime.[6] However, he was added to an earlier episode, where he cheered for Luffy after he defeated a member of the Giant Squad.[2]

During one scene in Episode 964, Kinga was incorrectly drawn blond, wearing a blue kimono with a yellow sash.

During the discussion about creating divisions, the anime replaced him with Kingdew.[5]

A character heavily resembling Kinga's concept art can be seen in both the manga and anime during the Summit War of Marineford.[7] Due to the heavy resemblance to the concept art, this character was initially believed to be Kinga; however, with the release of the Vivre Card databook, Kinga was revealed to be a different character, resembling his initial concept art less.
