Lithuania has been proactive in developing several Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tools to support risks assessments tailored to the specific needs of its diverse economic sectors. Currently, tools have been created for 24 distinct industries, ranging from car repair and woodworking to petrol stations, retail activities, manufacture of furniture, agriculture, hotels and restaurants and waste management.

These sector-specific tools offer tailored guidance, ensuring that risk assessments are relevant and effective for the unique challenges of each sector. For example, the tool for hairdressers and beauty salons focuses on ergonomic risks and chemical exposure, while the one for the mining sector emphasises the dangers associated with confined spaces and heavy machinery.

An online seminar aimed at shedding light on the effective use of these e-tools takes place on 10 September. Hosted by our Lithuanian focal point, State Labour Inspectorate /Valstybinė darbo inspekcija, the event includes presentations and practical demonstrations of OiRA for micro and small enterprise (MSE) owners, managers, department leaders, workers' representatives and OSH professionals.
