The Fine Line Creative Arts Center, supported by the Schacht Tools for Schools Grant, has broadened its weaving curriculum to include the use of Flip looms. These slates with holes and slits are weaving tools, in Swedish they are called “Bandgrind” and in English I call them simply “heddles”, although “Scandinavian rigid heddle for band weaving” would be more accurate.  The heddles have traditionally been used to weave bands with, and I’ve been making them for 3 1/2 years now.
