The mask is a face cover worn by Vangelis. The first mask was created using the Skull of Hazza D'ur and was used to hide Vangelis' identity through his alter ego, the Skull Sorcerer. It disappeared in the Battle for Shintaro Mountain after the destruction of Hazza D'ur.
More than a year after his defeat, Vangelis received a new mask from the Crystal King shortly before his escape from Shintaro, and wore his mask when he joined the Council of the Crystal King.
History[]
Master of the Mountain[]
By using the Skull of Hazza D'ur, the mask was created for Vangelis whenever he became the Skull Sorcerer. However, when the skull was destroyed by Cole, the mask ceased to exist as Vangelis lost his title as the Skull Sorcerer.
Ninjago City vs. Ninja[]
A Crystal Spider broke into Vangelis' jail with a new mask, and he puts it on after he accepts his invitation to join the Crystal Council.
The Council of the Crystal King[]
When the Kabuki Mask notifies the Crystal Council of one of their members actually being an imposter, Aspheera is quick to accuse Vangelis due to his mask, until Lloyd's identity as the fake Mechanic was exposed.

Trivia[]
- In the sets, the mask does not have any light glowing on its eyes and does not have a mouth.
- Unlike the original mask, the new mask does not allow Vangelis to move the mouth depicted on the mask.
- The only time the new mask had a different expression was in "The Council of the Crystal King," as seen on the image to the left.
- Also, after being empowered by the Overlord from the "The Coming of the King" up until "Dragon Form," the mouth disappears for unknown reasons.
