Deku Overlay

Deku Overlay (デク・オーバーレイ, Deku Ōbārei^?)^[1] is an Ultimate Move performed by Izuku Midoriya using the Blackwhip Quirk.

Description[]

After becoming immobilized by the effects of Gearshift, Izuku uses his Blackwhip to reinforce and pull at the muscles and tendons within his body to simulate movement, which shows up as dark lines underneath his skin.

Izuku first uses this Ultimate Move in his fight against Tomura Shigaraki in his right arm to use a whole-handed Delaware Smash,^[2] before spreading it across his whole body, allowing him to control his movements while sprouting tendrils from his body at the same time into attacks.^[3] After transferring Blackwhip to Tomura, he dropped the form.^[4]

• Kohei Horikoshi refers to this form as "Carnage", a reference to the Marvel Comics supervillain of the same name.^[1]
