Hannibal Barca (247 - ca. 183 BC), popularly known as Hannibal, was a military leader and politician, best remembered for his leadership in the Second Punic War against the Romans. Hannibal marched his army, which famously included war elephants, over the Pyrenees and Alps into Italy.

- Hannibal appears in in "Lost in Time," the featured story in the May 1986 issue of the Muppet Babies comic book. Baby Fozzie's ancestor Fozzicus the Witty is Hannibal's joke teller. Hannibal is unnerved by the arrival of Baby Kermit, afraid that the elephants will mistake him for a mouse.
- Hannibal appears in Gulliver's Travels, as one of many historical figures summoned by Gulliver while forcibly held in the Sorceror's home.
