"Frog Struggle Song" was originally written for a Sesame Street insert and sung by composer Joe Raposo over a footage of a tree frog climbing a tree. The lyrics begin "It's a long hard climb, but I'm gonna get there...I'm climbin' to the mornin' sun."

In 1995, Jerry Nelson recorded the song for a new insert featuring footage of children trying various activities (riding a bike, jumping rope, baseball etc.). (First: Episode 3398) For this version, the lyrics were modified; the song's refrain is changed to "It's a long hard road, but I'm gonna get there...I'm headin' to the mornin' sun."
