Catherine O'Hara (b. 1954) is a Canadian actress who first gained fame starring on SCTV (which she also wrote for, sharing in an Emmy). She voiced Judith in the 2009 Creature Shop-effects film Where the Wild Things Are, and later voiced Leader of the Lost Fraggles in Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock.
O'Hara moved from SCTV into movies, working with Tim Burton in Beetlejuice (and later supplying voices for The Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie), and playing worried mother Kate McAllister in Home Alone and its sequel. She appeared in four of Christopher Guest's mockumentary films, usually paired with SCTV co-star Eugene Levy. From 2015 to 2020, she and Levy starred on the Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek.
Other films include Tall Tale (as Calamity Jane), Home Fries, After Hours (with Teri Garr), Dick Tracy, and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (with Jim Carrey). TV includes guest roles on Six Feet Under, Tales from the Crypt, 30 Rock, Modern Family, and twice guest hosting Saturday Night Live.
