Three-time Academy Award nominee Marcello Mastroianni stars in this story of two brothers who are raised apart to lead very different lives in Family Diary. When their mother dies, young Enrico (Mastroianni--La Dolce Vita) and Lorenzo (Jacques Perrin) are separated. Enrico is raised by a humble gardener and grows into a hard-working journalist living Rome. Lorenzo is raised by his wealthy grandmother and becomes a young idealist living in Florence with no real need to work. The two live their lives apart until reuniting when Lorenzo is gravely ill.
