Phazon Burrowers are Burrowers that have been corrupted by Phazon. They are unused creatures in Metroid Prime. The game's files contain only one instance of this enemy, which was intended to be placed in Crater Tunnel B of the Impact Crater, in the center of the room's pit of Red Phazon. In the GameCube and Wii releases of Metroid Prime, this Phazon Burrower reuses the scan for regular Burrowers, but in Metroid Prime Remastered a unique scan entry for the species is present in the files. The reason for its removal is unknown.
