email question
Did you get my email regarding UTRS? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Masai giraffe (talk) 14:07, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- Your email is not regarding UTRS, its about your block. I do not have any super authority over your block by developing UTRS, in fact it's specifically what I try and stay out of. Now you have been email blocked and talkpage blocked on enwiki, you have been banned from using UTRS for a time period, and now you are both coming to my talkpage and emailing me on a seperate wiki about your block. Please tread very carefully, as taking your unblock request to another wiki is not appropriate and against the norms, and is a very fast way to get blocked (or globally locked). -- Amanda (she/her) 14:42, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I will not request unblock on another wiki, I wasnt requesting unblock now on this wiki, the declining admin didn’t say the decline reason and I wanted to know why and they never told me. Because you were utrs admin I figured you might know if I was blocked from using it for a half year and what the decline reason was, I unfortunately made a mistake and can’t use email to ask questions. It just said you were a tool admin and I figured I could ask you about it, if I was blocked from using utrs for 6 months.I apologize for any inconvenience. - I apologize for the misunderstanding, several things made it seem like you wanted to challenge the block with me (wanting to ask questions, wondering why you were denied, and if you asked about the next time you could request unblock). Please understand I get a lot of people that want to challenge their block via email when I wasn't even the one who blocked them, and then they want to engage in endless discussion that I don't have time for. I'm absolutely willing to provide you the facts, but just to be clear, I won't speak to any merits.
- I have just emailed your appeal key to you, since I can verify your account. You will be able to see the messages from administrators there. You are currently banned from UTRS for English Wikipedia until 2025-03-02 16:06:23. -- Amanda (she/her) 02:38, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- It just says access to this entry is restricted, and by the way, I do understand the confusion of me wanting to appeal my block on another wiki. Masai giraffe (talk) 02:54, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, the green is comments made internally by administrators that is internal discussion. It's meant to just show that an admin has commented, you are not meant to see those ones. The responses to you are in blue. -- Amanda (she/her) 02:58, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- I saw this, I still don’t know why it was refused by jjmc89 but I will in the meantime make edits to other projects and prove I can be a good editor and abide by rules. Masai giraffe (talk) 03:08, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- I would take Yamla's statement as the decline. It was sent to the tool administrators queue, and I think that was just an administrative close. -- Amanda (she/her) 05:40, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining, I do think yamla was being a bit hard, by saying I was behaving terribly, I did make a mistake by not making 500 edits, I just wanted other admin’s opinions, when the ban expires and I can use utrs again I will hopefully prove I can be constructive and explain the mistakes I made to yamla and just apologize for the behavior and avoid any more occurrences and be constructive. Take care. Masai giraffe (talk) 00:01, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

No access to wikipedia from Swiss train
hello, I have submitted a request to understand what I can do to continue working on Wikipedia from the Swiss trains. Indeed, I had the surprise when I came back from holidays that you have taken the decision to August 15thm 2024 at 21:47, to block the access to Wikipedia to Swiss trains (SNCF/SBB/lyria) I have tried to introduced a request but it was not considered for technical reason w37.
Therefore i have decided to tell you a bit about my life. I am commuting between Paris and Basel in Switzerland on a weekly basis and my only pleasure in those noisy trains is work on Wikipedia and specifically for the last years on the Wiktionary in Sängö. I can understand that you are trying to put some order to avoid people from using proxy to continue trolling and polluting Wikipedia sites. Now, I don't think I have a chance to get in contact with the IT support of Lyria trains to update the proxy settings for the trains. Therefore I feel really punished by the consequence of your decision. I don't know if empathy and IT security are compatible and if I have a chance to entertain myself in the train ever again [I guess in two years, it will be reviewed] Laurent Bouvier (talk) 17:28, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Laurent Bouvier: I've set an exemption on your account, it will expire in one year. If needed again, you can request at Steward requests/Global permissions#Requests for global IP block exemption. — xaosflux Talk 17:48, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! I am happily surprised :) Laurent Bouvier (talk) 20:05, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
