The USS Saber[1][2][3] (NCC-61947[1] and NCC-61900[4]) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Saber-class light cruiser in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. (Star Trek Fact Files Issue File 31 - Card 27: "Saber-class Starships")

Service history and disposition[]

When launched in 2370, Saber was the prototype of its class. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom; Decipher RPG module: Starfleet Operations Manual)

Saber was modified for service as a fleet frigate, in active service around the year 2378. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

By 2409, the ship's name had been given to the Saber-class escort USS Saber (NCC-61900-B). (STO - Klingon War mission: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy")
