The Talas Mosarum-class (also known as S9 alphanumerically and translated from Romulan language as Wind Carrier) was a class V starship of the Romulan fleet in the 23rd century. Classified as a scout, this class entered service in the late-2260s decade. It was named after Talas Mosarum.

Starfleet Intelligence believed this class replaced the S4 Delon Vastam-class, with improved disruptors and shields, as well as the CS2 Verelan Vastarum-class, with improved combat efficiency and a broader field of fire.
The vessels were powered by type RWD-2 warp engines and type RIB-3 impulse engines. They were armed with two type RB-7a disruptors and defended with type RSC shields. The could ferry 3,000 metric tons of cargo (60 SCU). They did not carry Romulan shuttlecraft. The type-4 variant doubled the number of forward disruptors and increased the ship's mass by 1,300 metric tons.
Service history and disposition[]
The class entered service in the late-2260s decade, on reference stardate 2/10. About 266 were built as of the mid-2280s. The type-4 variant entered service in the early-2270s, on reference stardate 2/14. By the mid-2280s, 182 had been constructed. In total, 400 remained in military service, with 20 in reserved fleets and 19 in civil service. Starfleet Intelligence purchased Talas Mosarum schematics from Orions in the Triangle sector. Sub-Commander Avolus commanded a Wind Carrier that was destroyed. Later, in 2287, Avolus commanded a similar Wind Carrier, the ChR Deletham Mosaram, one of the scouts converted for civilian use. Its officers boarded a doomsday machine. (FASA RPG module: A Doomsday Like Any Other)
