Gorn infantry soldiers.

A soldier was an individual who served in an army or other military outfit, employed to fight in war.

History and specifics[]

Armies and militaries generally organize themselves with soldiers as combatants and other personnel in support roles. In such organizations, soldiers could be combatants employed as mercenaries, conscripts with positions ranging from enlisted soldiers, non-commissioned officers, warrant officers or commissioned officers. Civilizations with martial philosophies would also sometimes characterize dedicated combatants as warriors.

On the planet Numero Uno, during the war between Justin I and Justin II, the death toll was 37,000 Orange Army soldiers and 103,000 Green Army soldiers. (TOS comic: "The Ghost Planet")
