Joachim Murat (25 March 1767 – 13 October 1815) was a soldier in Europe in the history of Earth who rose to the rank of a Marshal of France. Through marriage to a sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, Murat achieved several royal titles.

The 22nd century Starfleet flag officer, Lucian Murat, was said to be a descendant of the French marshal. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
