The Borg octahedron[3] was a 24th century Borg starship type in Borg Collective service in the 2370s decade. The Borg Queen's ship served as the Borg Queen's personal flagship and was integrated into Primary Unicompplex in the year 2375. (VOY episode: "Dark Frontier")

In the 25th century, the Borg octahedron was a heavily armed dreadnought class of vessels. The Borg Queen could upload herself to such a vessel and take another once it was destroyed. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Hive Onslaught")

History and specifications[]

24th century[]

The Starfleet ship USS Voyager was the first Federation vessel to encounter this type of Borg ship. The Borg Queen's vessel was destroyed in 2375. It was detachable from the queen's unicomplex and equipped with a transwarp engine. (VOY episode: "Dark Frontier")

Following this encounter it was unknown to Starfleet if this vessel had been unique. This ship was of uncertain size but larger than a Federation Intrepid-class starship and smaller than a Borg cube, and potentially smaller than a Borg sphere. (TOSC Issue 109: "Borg Queen's Ship")

In 2376, Borg diamonds were small starships of this design that served as science vessels. (ST video game: Armada)

The Borg Queen's diamond in 2377 of the Borg diamond's science vessel configuration. (ST video game: Armada II)

25th century[]

In the 2400s decade, the Borg octahedron was a large vessel with the weaponry and capabilities of a dreadnought. In 2409, default armaments included a omni-directional plasma beam array, plasma turret, omega plasma torpedo launcher and a kinetic cutting beam. The Borg Queen could transfer her consciousness between vessels of this class. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Hive Onslaught")

In 2410, a Borg octahedron controlled by the Borg Queen engaged in a three-way fight with a Voth Citadel-class and an Undine Tethys-class dreadnought. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Borg Disconnected")

From the mirror universe, Borg King Harry Kim of the Borg Kingdom maintained the Mirror Borg Octahedron at Unimatrix 7400 in fluidic space. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Scorpion's Abyss")

In another alternate reality, Control Borg Queen Tasha Yar commanded the Control Borg Queen Octahedron during its war with the Iconian Alliance. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Situation Under Control")

During a joint incursion into fluidic space by the Borg Collective, Borg Kingdom and Control Borg, a trio of Borg octahedrons operated from interconnected unicomplexes and were driven out by a joint Undine-Khitomer Alliance task force. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Royal Flush")
