For other uses, see Bell.

Lieutenant Bell was a Human man, a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century.

History[]

In 2269, Bell was a young science officer stationed at Starfleet Science's facility known as the Prometheus Science Center. He gave James T. Kirk his orders to investigate the center of the galaxy while standing next to a replica of the Megasphere, a scale model of the Milky Way. He also provided navigational instructions.

Bell was very likable, which Kirk speculated was the reason why he was chosen to relay those orders. (TOS - Log Three novelization: Mudd's Passion)

The mission was assigned by Bell at the end of the novelization of "Mudd's Passion", then depicted in "The Magicks of Megas-Tu".
