A neuro-electric field generator was a component aboard every Borg vessel, responsible for the production of an energy form capable of healing both organic and inorganic body parts of injured drones.
In 2373, the group of former drones known as "the Cooperative" utilized a neuro-electric field to heal Commander Chakotay, first officer of the USS Voyager, who had sustained serious injuries in a shuttle crash. Later, utilizing their residual neural link with Chakotay, they influenced him to reactivate the neuro-electric generator of a derelict Borg cube, and redirect it towards the colony, allowing the Cooperative to forcibly establish a neural link amongst the planet's entire population.
