Ron Taylor (16 October 1952 – 16 January 2002; age 49) was an actor and singer who played the Klingon Chef in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine second season episodes "Melora" and "Playing God". He also voiced two characters in the video game Star Trek: Klingon Academy.

He is perhaps best known as the voice of Bleeding Gums Murphy in two episodes of The Simpsons, "Moaning Lisa" and "'Round Springfield."

He also made brief appearances in Trading Places (1983, with Bill Cobbs), Dead Heat (1988, with Robert Picardo), and Collision Course (1989, with Chris Sarandon). He also had a role in Second Sight (1989, starring John Larroquette and John Schuck. He would also appear in Fever (1991, with Steve Rankin, Tim Ransom, and Gregg Henry). His other films include Heart Condition (1990, with Kieran Mulroney), Downtown (1990, with Ron Canada, Roger Aaron Brown, Catherine MacNeal, and Wren T. Brown), There Goes the Neighborhood (1992, with W. Morgan Sheppard, Jonathan Banks, Harris Yulin, and Lee Arenberg), and Amos & Andrew (1993, with Brad Dourif).

On Broadway, Taylor played Porthos to Brent Spiner's Aramis in a 1984 stage production of The Three Musketeers. Roy Brocksmith was also a part of the play's cast.

He died of a heart attack in 2002 at the age of 49.

Ron Taylor is also the birth name of Tiny Ron, the actor who played Maihar'du. When he applied to the Screen Actors Guild, he found this Ron Taylor had already taken the name, and changed his to Tiny Ron.[1]
